Job Description
- Model and support a learner-centred, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
- Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for Chemistry.
- Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will study Chemistry in English.
- Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
- Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objectives.
- Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
- Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
- Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.
Skills
- Relevant bachelor's degree (Bachelor’s degree in chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry; Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering; Bachelor’s degree in environmental chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and math (combined); Bachelor of Education in chemistry (3-year degree)
- Possess excellent knowledge of the subject matter.
- 3 years of full-time teaching experience (2 years if holding teaching license) for non- UAE Nationals.
-2 years full- time teaching experience if the candidate possesses one of the following:
B.Ed; M.Ed; NTS;PGCE (QTS not required); PGDE; H.D.E; H.E.D; DELTA (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training); CELTA (Masters level only); TESOL (Masters level only)
Licenses:
UAE – TLS / MoE Teaching License; United Kingdom – QTS or EYTS ;Ireland – Registered member of the teaching council ;Scotland – Full professional registration ; UAE – Professional Educational License ; Canada – Teaching License ;New Zealand – Fully Certified Teacher ; Australia - Fully Registered Teacher
- Excellent level of English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 General/ 6 Academic/ EMSAT 1400 to be provided within six months from joining ESE)
- Relevant Master's Degree/PhD.
- Experience in teaching Chemistry in a school setting.
- Experience with international curricula (SAT, AP, IGCSE, A-level).
